The Library Club is showing their support for “Get Your Green On”

In collaboration with Earth day by displaying original recycled works of art in the Anne Springs Close Library. The Library Club is encouraging students and faculty to submit their own works.

Guidelines:

Items will be on display from January 7th - April 22nd

Gaming @ Your Library is scheduled to take place on April 1, 2009 during the campus-wide Spring Blast event.

For the event, some games will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring some of your own.

Unlike before, we are unable to use L-113 fr the event, so we are expanding to the use of the library's foyer area as well as some designated locations inside the library itself.

Snacks will be provided, and we are asking for a $0.50 donation for canned drinks and a $1.00 donation for pizza.

In addition, we are currently holding a contest amongst our workstudy students to design an advertisement for Gaming Day that we extend to you.

If you wish to participate, create an 8 1/2 x 11 sign that advertises Gaming @ Your Library that includes the day in question, April 1, 2009, as well as the mentioning of Board, Card, and Video games. Also include the suggested donation of $0.50 for soda and $1.00 for pizza.

Signs will be judged by our staff and prizes will be awarded to the top three, while all signs submitted will go towards advertising the event in the various campus buildings.

York Tech is now beginning a new program called "One Book, One Community". It is a American Library Association (ALA) Public Program initiative. "Librarians are putting together incredible ‘One Book, One Community’ programs that bring attention to libraries and the value of reading and book discussion programs. ” said ALA Executive Director Keith Michael Fiels.

The Library Club Sponsored Gaming Day this semester will be during the Welcome back blast on Wednesday, March 25^th in L113 from 9 am – 7 pm

The Library Club has arranged for L-113 to be available from 9 am to 7 pm for a BYOG gaming day once a month but the library will not be supplying any snacks or supplies, this will be a student led, student organized event – if you have any questions, consult Devin Battles in the library. The scheduled dates are as follows:
